My client in London is looking for an experienced Band 5 Virology Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.

Job Role:
• To select and perform appropriate laboratory investigations on patient samples as requested by the clinical services or determined by a review of clinical details
• Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the results produced.
• Enter and validate laboratory results produced by themselves or other laboratory staff members.
• To validate, authorise and report results of investigations, to interpret results to assist diagnosis
• To ensure that all results are reported within agreed turnaround time
• To report and discuss all quality and other issues with senior members of staff
• To assist in the training and supervision of Medical Laboratory Assistants
• To participate in the evaluation of new diagnostic techniques and procedures
• To assist in the training of medical staff

Qualifications and Experience required:
• HCPC registered as a BMS
• Bsc (Hons... degree relevant Biomedical science
• Knowledge of the day to day running of a diagnostic laboratory
• Experience of providing appropriate training to members of staff such as support staff
