We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (BMS) to work as part of our Haematology team within the FastTrack Laboratory of Blood Sciences.
The ideal candidates must be HCPC registered, will have completed a Specialist Portfolio (or equivalent) in their respective discipline and have demonstrated ability and knowledge at that level for at least 24 months. Candidates may also be considered who have started their Specialist Portfolio.
With a passion for Haematology you will be an experienced Biomedical Scientist who will join our team at an exciting time of change and modernisation. You will help to support the team to embed our quality culture into everyday practices through your understanding of UKAS IS0 15189... standards and how these impact on a clinical laboratory.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of Routine Haematology testing as well as other disciplines within Blood Sciences, and be able to show an ongoing commitment to continued training and education.
The role includes shift working across all UHL sites and across the 24/7 period. You must be able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills, a flexible approach in line with the Trust agenda of service reconfiguration and be capable of working accurately and efficiently under pressure. Previous experience with Pathology computer systems for Blood Sciences is essential.
