Marketing Communications (Marketing & Communications)
Tauranga Business Chamber is looking for an emerging communications leader to drive and implement our communications and marketing activities.
This role will suit someone with strong communications and storytelling skills, with an eye for maintaining the Chamber as Western Bay’s business hub and champion.
This is a great opportunity for a go-getter who has the confidence to manage our full suite of communications – from social media and website content, to developing communication strategies and supporting our CEO with advocacy campaigns.
You’ll have a nose for news – able to spot a good story and write confidently for a range of channels – and be comfortable interacting with members and stakeholders at events.

The role will be responsible for:

Managing our day-to-day communications... activities – from planning and execution to monitoring and analysis.
Developing and leading communications strategies that demonstrate how the Chamber has its finger on the pulse of the business community.
Writing and editing content for our range of newsletters, and for media.
Liaising with members to provide marketing support and spot opportunities to share news and advice with our wider community.
Advising the CEO on how to execute advocacy campaigns for optimal impact.
Maintaining relationships with our key partners to share messaging through their channels.
Supporting our Events & Sponsorship Manager in the promotion of a wide range of events and sponsors.
Managing relationships with our promotional partners, including designers, website developers, photographers, advertisers, and other external suppliers.
Occasionally attending events to engage with members and support the team.
The ideal person will:

Have a high level of autonomy and initiative, but also enjoy working as part of a small, close-knit team.
Be a strong written and verbal communicator, who can confidently write for a range of channels.
Be a demonstrated self-starter, with experience managing projects from start to finish.
Be passionate about helping others with their business passions.
Have the confidence to advise the CEO and peers on communications matters.
Demonstrate a commitment to staying up to date with the latest communications trends.
Be proficient in a range of communications tools, particularly WordPress, CRMs and social media scheduling programs.
Experience working in a political and/or multi-stakeholder environment is an advantage.
Enjoy an energised, bold team culture, and have a sense of humour.
