Job Summary
An independent regulator in the UK and Ireland, responsible for regulating auditors, accountants and actuaries, is looking to recruit a Project Manager to support their Regulatory Standards Division.
Duties And Responsibilities
We are seeking a Project Manager to join the Actuarial Policy Team (APT). This role will work closely with the Actuarial Policy management team to support the Actuarial Policy Team in delivering its objectives, and will be responsible for:
• Deliver the project management of the team’s larger projects including the actuarial monitoring programme when ARGA is established. The role holder will work with actuarial staff in order to develop and maintain high-quality and realistic project plans, PIDs, RAID logs, RACI matrix and project review documentation. The role holder will monitor progress against these plans and identify and initiate corrective action... as necessary. The role holder will also interact with other teams such as Governance and Stakeholder Engagement to support the delivery of team’s projects.
• Develop the non-actuarial aspects of the operational framework of the actuarial regulatory regime as part of implementation of ARGA, working closely with the actuarial lead on the monitoring programme.
• Supporting the management team on operational matters of the team, such as reporting on KPIs, reporting to PMO, information management, learning & development.
• Manage the APT’s internal processes (such as data policy, risks) on behalf of the management team
• Supporting APT staff in other projects and activities on an ad hoc basis
Skills And Experience Required
A proven track record in project, programme or portfolio management discipline, supported by one or more of the following qualifications or equivalent experience:
• PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Practitioner Qualification
• Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner, P3O Practitioner
• Agile (Scrum / DSDM / similar practitioner-level)
• A degree course, or similar, involving project management modules / credits
• Expertise in producing project/programme/portfolio reports and dashboards
• Strong knowledge and experience of using and developing project and portfolio management tools and techniques
• High level of proficiency in IT systems particularly SharePoint, Teams, Word and Excel.
• Data analysis skills e.g. pivot tables, basic formulas and understanding of statistics desirable.
• A good understanding of regulatory work, or experience of working with an actuarial team in the pensions or insurance sector. An understanding of the nature of actuarial work would be desirable.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
