We’re delighted to offer this exciting new role in Lincolnshire providing specialist help for adults with cancer across Lincolnshire, both within the community and in hospital.

Experience of working with individuals with acute and chronic physical ill-health is essential, as is a passion for working flexibly with people with serious illness.

We’d love to hear from enthusiastic individuals at all stages of their careers, including trainees who are soon to qualify and Clinical Psychologists who are keen to progress in their careers. Areas of specialist knowledge are especially welcomed.

Full and part time opportunities are being offered plus the option to work in additional areas of physical health including ME/CFS, Long Covid and Paediatric Diabetes.

The focus of the work will be to offer specialist assessment and individualised therapy programmes as part of a team of Clinical Psychologists to patients who currently have or have had cancer. All tumour types are accepted and these present different challenges. The clinical work may involve seeing patients in hospital and occasionally in their home environments. Patients may be newly diagnosed, going through treatment, experiencing difficulties following discharge from services, or have been diagnosed with a recurrence of their cancer and may have differing levels of health. Staff liaison, support, training, supervision and consultancy, mainly to specialist cancer nurses but also to any professionals and care staff who are seeking guidance with the psychological wellbeing of their patient, will be important aspects of the work undertaken.

Participating in the wider Physical Health Psychology specialty work would be welcomed since the specialty is close-knit and the multidisciplinary staff work together to meet the needs of their patients, share ideas and develop the services offered.
