You will help us find great people and technologies to invest in, complete investment analysis and due diligence, and support Sprout portfolio companies post-investment.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
• Leading due diligence of investment opportunities – target market size, technical & competitor analysis, etc.
• Assisting with investment activity and reporting, including preparation of documents for investment processes.
• Supporting portfolio companies with investment related activities (acting as Board Observer, market assessments, supporting capital raise)
• Lead the screening process for applicants to the Sprout Accelerator, as well as support other Accelerator related activities.
• Identify and support agri- and food-tech start-ups looking to raise capital and scale.
• Engage and build relationships with players across the agrifood ecosystem, such as industry leaders, universities/CRIs, and investors.
• Participate in networking and industry events
• Be an advocate... for Sprout Agritech. You will effectively communicate the value of Sprout’s investment, Accelerator programme, industry knowledge, local and international network.
• Contributing to a positive organisational culture, characterised by a high level of employee engagement, innovation, collaboration and performance.

About You:

We are looking for an ambitious and driven person who is passionate about taking NZ’s technologies to the world. You’ll ideally be degree qualified in engineering, science, agriculture, or a related field. You understand the importance of commercialisation as a pathway to create impact with novel technologies, and have an interest in developing a skill set in this area. You do not need previous analysis experience to be superb in this role. What you do need are serious smarts - meaning that you learn fast - and a strong curiosity to learn about the latest technologies and trends in the agrifood space. Any experience or knowledge of start-ups is a bonus.
