With... tourism on the rise, Tourplan are expanding the team and are looking for a Commercial Finance Officer (CFO) who’s naturally enthusiastic about improving and consolidating business processes across financial and commercial practices.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and working alongside a cohesive, engaged and driven Executive Leadership Team, the CFO is the key strategic, commercial and financial advisor to the CEO and the Board; providing valuable advice to enable business decision making at all levels. In doing this the CFO will; amongst other things:
• Work authentically as a true executive alongside the Executive Leadership Team to develop and execute strategies that will positively “shift the dial” of business performance.
• Effectively lead the finance team and guide each team member to reach their potential.
• Provide essential commercial advice to the CEO, Board and Executive Leadership Team to enable the business to take opportunities and manage risks.
• Develop and lead valuable commercial and financial reporting to enable all leaders in the business to make decisions and achieve objectives.
• Lead the review and development of effective systems and processes that ensure the financial function can provide the level of support, information, and reporting that the business needs to operate effectively.
• Liaise with multi-jurisdictional accounting advisors, legal advisors, banks and tax authorities.
• Manage financial governance, tax compliance and cash across multiple borders
• Take accountability for commercial client and supplier contract and pricing review, analysis and negotiation to ensure all contracts and related commercials align with Tourplan objectives.

About you

To be successful in this new role of CFO, you will hold the relevant professional qualifications and will be able to demonstrate real depth and breadth to your financial, commercial and strategic capability. The CFO must have exceptional attention to detail and be effective at working across all levels within an organisation. This position requires someone with a solid all-round understanding of accounting with working knowledge of applicable accounting standards and regulations as well as experience in commercial management and ability to report to the Board. You are a steadying hand, understanding team and business dynamics and leading change at a pace that allows a business to continue to thrive.

You will be humble, down to earth and willing to get “your hands dirty” as required. You will be courageous as a leader, understanding that vulnerability and empowerment of others is what is crucial to lead high performance. Your truly collaborative approach together with your commitment to taking accountability for the performance of the whole over your own vertical will allow you to show up as the Executive that Tourplan expects and wants.
