Job Description
Our Client is a leading Canadian distributor of laboratory products, instruments, reagents and consumables. Headquartered in Toronto Canada, they represent numerous industry leading suppliers exclusively, allowing them to provide scientific solutions for all areas of research. They support all levels of academic, government, clinical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology research with innovative products and services.
As a member of their integrated and nimble Sales Team, you will work in a team environment to manage and exceed growth expectations in a dynamic territory. This territory will consist of supporting all Life Science and research labs in British Columbia. In this position, you will be responsible for increasing sales by developing working business relationships with their existing customer base and through continued emphasis on developing new customer opportunities. The sales representative will conduct... business by meeting customers daily in person (by appointment and door-to-door), via online video call, and through phone and email correspondence. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Sales, and will work in close partnership with the other members of the Western Canada sales team.
Requirements /Qualifications
• BSc., MSc (preferred) or PhD. in the Life Sciences (molecular biology/biochemistry). An MLT certification is also acceptable.
• Bilingual, fluency in both French and English is an asset
• Strong knowledge of laboratory practice, protocols, and products. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a research lab or clinical lab space.
• Must be familiar with basic Life Science techniques including Cloning, PCR, qPCR, Cell culture, Western Blot etc.
• An individual with high energy and motivation to sell leading scientific suppliers
• Looking to join an enthusiastic, professional selling team with scientific expertise
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals
• Previous sales or customer service experience is not required but is an asset
• Working knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce, SharpSpring or Hubspot) & SAP would be an asset
• Professional demeanor with a customer service focus
• Resourceful, can identify and develop prospect opportunities to build business pipeline
• Valid drivers license and passport required
• Some overnight travel required

Founded by a former National Sales and Marketing Manager for Life technologies, our client offers a complete solution for research needs including everything from basic pipette tips and tubes to the high level capital equipment with more recent in -roads into the pathology domain. As they continue to grow Nationally, they require an Account Manager on the ground for the Alberta territory.
The Candidate they seek will likely come with an educational foundation with a BSc., MSc., (or PhD) ideally in molecular biology/biochemistry or related, and brings proficient to expert experience with laboratory practice, protocols, and products and ideally in a research lab or clinical lab space. The preferred candidate will bring familiarity with basic Life Science techniques including Cloning, PCR, qPCR, Cell culture, Western Blot etc and also ideally some working knowledge or exposure with CRM Software. This is an incredibly agile and quick moving environment where red tape simply put, is a non-issue so someone who is truly goal and results oriented and brings high energy and is motivated, would do best in this robust territory
