BNP Paribas was one of the founders of Banco Nacional de Mexico (Banamex), one of Mexico's largest banks, at the end of the 19th century, and stayed as a minority shareholder until the nationalization of the banking system in 1982. BNP was first established in Mexico more than half a century ago also acting as an important shareholder in Banco del Atlántico until 1982. BNP and Paribas merged in 2000 to create BNP Paribas. BNP Paribas offers a wide range of financial and advisory services to its clients including large corporates, public institutions and financial institutions.
BNP Paribas Mexico is expanding and has started operating in 2021 a full-fledged Mexican bank to better serve its clients through local operations performing local and global markets activities. Operations out of BNP Paribas Mexico include in particular trading and market making activities on interest rate derivatives, forex (spot and forward), bonds, repos and reverse repos on MBonos, UDI and Bonos. The coverage activities focusing on Mexican corporate and institutional clients will remain and expand.
The Operations Team in BNP Paribas México is responsible for insuring that all activities related to Back, Office, Middle Office / Trade Support, Regulatory Report, Client Onboarding, Corporate Events, Reconciliations and Regulatory Reports are performed correctly in the various locations providing services to Mexico thus on time respecting the established SLA, cut-off times and KPIs.
Responsibilities:
• Confirm all Mexico Fixed Income Trades with Counterparties and Brokers.
• Support México Credit Trading Desk consisting of heavy interaction with customer accounts and facilitating the allocation of money manager Sub-Accounts for client trading.
• Primary liaison between Trading Desks, Sales, P/L, Settlements and Local México Broker
• Monitor/maintain new Client Counterparty Set-Up with Static Data Team.
• Guarantee compliance with all procedures and reporting.
• Contribute to the timely settlement of trades by resolving DK trades and clearing monitors in Back Office systems.
• Complete daily fail reports and report to front and back offices of communications made to resolve fails.
• Primary contact of Front Office in México for any type or trades.
• Monitoring, Follow-up and Validation (Pending trades).
• Work with Front Office, P&L, Back Office, and Application Support to resolve operational and booking issues.
• Inform to Trade Support in New Jersey once Front Office close a trade.
• Prepare and release the Affirmation e-mail once Trade Support in New Jersey Confirm it
• Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for GM, TS ALMT and TS GM rates.
• Follow up and Validation of Corporate Events for ALMT and GM.
• Confirmation Letter for Pension Funds (Temporary, to be automated).
• Assist with project initiatives designed to improve and streamline existing processes.
• Contribute to quick resolution of trade issues by liaising with various groups including Front Office, Back Office, IT Team, P&L Controllers and Client Services.
• Where appropriate, ability to maintain and explain own position-using logic in the light of differing views.
• Reconcile internal trades done between BNP entities.
Required Qualifications:

• Ability to effectively listen and communicate.
• Previous experience (3 yr.+) in Derivatives, Bonds and Repos.
• Knowledge of Middle Office activities.
• Ability to work autonomously in a pressured environment.
• Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy.
• Customer service etiquette.
• Sense of initiative.
Preferred Qualifications;
• Bachelor in Finance or similar.
• Figura 3 AMIB Asesor en Estratégicas de Inversión (desirable).
• Strong communication skills in English (oral & written).
• Strong knowledge of Financial Markets with emphasis on FX, Bonds, Repos and Rates Derivatives.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment.
• Strong Excel/PC skills with proven ability to work with multiple systems
