The Roving Health & Wellness Promoter will be based at our Head Office located in Glenside but will work across all Southern Cross Care Residential Homes in South Australia and Northern Territory to ensure consistency of Exercise programs and processes.

About The Role

Reporting to the Organisational Wellness and Lifestyle Manager, you'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary Early Intervention team to identify and develop Recovery Pathways for residents at risk of decline and frailty.

The aim is to provide residents with opportunities to maintain and improve their physical function in order to support them to do the things they love.

Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
• planning and delivering high quality health ... wellness services with the emphasis on person centred care and healthy ageing
• enabling residents to maximise independence, improve and maintain their health, wellness and quality of life
• ensuring sites maintain a consistent approach to residential health and wellness services through quality audits, mentoring staff, accreditation preparation and covering leaves of absence
• providing mentoring and support to Health & Wellness Promoters at each home
• Implementing organisational programs across all residential homes

About You

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
• a Bachelor Degree or equivalent Exercise Science, Personal Training, Exercise Physiology or equivalent as well as accreditation with Physical Activity Australia, AUSactive or Exercise & Sports Science Australia
• experience in selecting appropriate exercise programs for older individuals
• ability to efficiently analyse information, respond to and advocate on behalf of client needs
• excellent project management, time management and leadership skills
• ability to collaborate in case management situations with others to make effective decisions and problem solve
• exceptional interpersonal skills including ability to build and foster strong internal and external relationships
• Current and unrestricted driver’s licence
• Proficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite and various in-house databases
• A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role
