Government, regulated, high profile, national travel, AS06 & AS04 roles
My client provides a diverse range of services to the community. These services aim to produce a safe and peaceful environment by minimising crime and disorder. It is a large complex organisation, and because of the nature of its operations, is constantly subject to public scrutiny and accountability. It provides services to a range of locations (over 100) spread across the State on a 24-hour-a-day basis and this role will involve national travel.

Duties include:
• Developing, implementing and reviewing programs, functions and services in the effective management of the section
• Undertaking the research and analysis of complex telecommunications technology trends and assessing their impact upon interception.
• Developing, documenting, implementing and evaluating complex and/or novel telecommunication interception system projects
• Providing expert technical advice and recommendations on matters relating to... telecommunications interception to inform decision making and policy review and delivering technical support for bespoke, highly secure and geographically dispersed server, storage, backup and network environments.
• Providing timely advice for the development of the budgetary requirements of the interception and associated systems to ensure adequate service levels and contribute to the development of related policy.
• Coordinating and undertaking network and server administration and maintenance functions and services including for Windows and Solaris.
• This may include resolving escalated user queries, administering complex system access, incident and problem investigation and resolution, and coordinating, performing and reviewing root cause analysis processes to prevent reoccurrences.
• Liaising with vendors on a technical and service level to resolve complex issues and initially to manage the renewal or otherwise of the current vendor
What you will bring to this exciting, unique role:
• Australian Citizenship - sorry but this is NOT negotiable
• Tertiary qualifications in Telecommunications, Information Technology or the necessary knowledge and skills acquired through experience.
• Significant experience in, and knowledge of, the planning, delivery and review of complex system administration programs and projects and in the delivery of diagnostic and analytical services for complex telecommunication and information systems.
• Significant experience identifying, analysing, coordinating and implementing the resolution of complex technical issues within the total telecommunications environment including audio, data and internet.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team, under broad direction, exercise judgement and delegate authority in the application of procedures and operating instructions and organise workloads and priorities and meet imposed deadlines.
