KL Engineering Inc. is a growing engineering company that provides engineering services to the Saskatchewan's mining, agriculture, and construction sectors.

This structural engineer in training position will primarily working from and occasionally working at client site. The ideal candidate is someone who currently lives in Saskatoon and has 2 to 4 years of experience performing structural design and inspections.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Produce structural design calculations, sketches, and reports for structural steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
• Perform design drawing review, and assistance with solutions for the construction or repair of industrial buildings, facilities, and other type of structures.
• Carry out foundation design, structural steel analysis, connection design, estimates of project costs, and preparation of reports
• Perform field investigations and inspections at owner's facility. Occasionally, flying to and living at construction camps are... required
• Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets and with high quality standards

Qualifications and Experience
• Strong work ethics, honest, diligent, and polite in the workplace
• Strong experience in design structural steel, concrete, and wood structures.
• Structural steel connection design, scaffolding design, crane lift design, masonry design, and design of industrial and commercial buildings will be considered an asset.
• A recognized degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited college or university. Master or PHD degree in structure engineering will be considered an asset.
• Registered as a engineer in training with APEGS or actively working towards professional registration.
• Sound understanding of NBC, CISC, AISC, CSA, CWC design codes and technical standards.
• Experience using Autodesk Robot Analysis, AutoCAD, Revit and MathCAD will be considered an asset.
• Excellent skill in using Microsoft Office products such as Teams and Excel
• Experience of working in Potash, Uranium and Ag-industrial facilities and experience of working with Pre-Engineered building will be considered an asset.
