Then look no further - Proudly South African retailer, Boxer Superstores, are recruiting an experienced Head of Learning and Development who will head up a large team, take complete control of our training function, build a best-in-class Learning & Development centre of expertise that accelerates the growth and development of all Boxer employees. This is a senior role with free reign to work independently, an opportunity to put your stamp on a learning strategy and roadmap and drive the strategy for our fast-growing company.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and experience in skills need analyses, budgets, management, and training. Retail experience is advantageous. Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for the complete training function within an organisation, setting policies regarding training requirements, monitors training within the group and reports on training to management.
• Responsible for the total training budget at executive level
• Defines and sets the expectations for what it means to develop and grow within Boxer through designing and developing the L&D strategy
• Identifying company's training needs and developing programmes to meet these requirements.
• Ensures that programmes are implemented and that the quality of training programmes are of the required standard, and responsible for output and results of training interventions.
• Co-ordinates and manages the activities of training officers.
• Support the design of a comprehensive career architecture, including the creation of company-wide competencies and learning pathways by role group
• Design engaging content specific to Boxer, ranging from in-product training on proprietary systems to foundational learning on the history and business of retail
• Coordinate a national calendar of mandatory training requirements
• Identify program metrics and assess program effectiveness to gain a deep understanding of our employees, their educational needs, and their roadblocks to success

Desired Experience & Qualification
• A degree associated with Learning and Development or a commerce degree
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant learning and development experience at a senior level
• Strong ability and willingness to actively manage the Learning and Development System and embed the necessary processes to create and maintain content.
• Experience in retail is an advantage
• Extensive and in-depth experience in working with SETAs, including the compiling of WSPs/ATRs, the application for funding (Discretionary Grants) and special projects
