Job Description: Establishes aviation logistics support goals and milestones; provides purpose, direction and motivation to achieve the established goals of the logistics support plan to improve aviation logistics support for the organization. Provides Senior Level Management with Logistical Solutions while managing the day-to-day technical aspects of the aviation logistics support of the organization. Subject Matter Expert for Aviation Logistics and Technical Supply Chain Management; manages provisioning for the organization’s expanding mission Thoroughly understand AR 700-138 operational readiness standards by MDS aircraft and manipulates the supply chain to reduce the order to ship time to bolster the Operational Ready Rate. Possesses good understanding of FMS Case regulations as well as pertinent FMs, ARs, DA PAMs and DoD publications governing management of materiel and materiel accountability. Ensures that the aviation supply chain functional activities are planned, coordinated... integrated, synchronized to achieve the established MDS aircraft operational readiness (OR) rates in accordance with contractual requirements. Functions in compliance with AS9110. A. Duties/responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the logistics and SCM support activities associated with Directorate of Aviation Programs (DAP). 2. Makes operational logistics decisions to influence the Aviation Supply Chain to reduce the order to receipt time. 3. Intensely manages Class III (p), Class VII and Class IX (a) on a daily basis in order to reduce zero balance, AOG situations and increase Operational and Customer Satisfaction Rates. Forecast operational logistics needs by developing metrics and methodologies to understand future aviation maintenance needs. 4. Manages and forecasts potential inventory shortfalls to reduce aircraft downtime. 5. Manages the ordering, purchasing, inventory control, and distribution of aviation spares (Class IX (a) and Class III(p); manages Class IX(a) repair and return and warranty programs. 6. Develop an effective storage plan that best utilizes the limited available storage area while maximizing efficiency for Class III (p) and IX (a) Items. 7. Leads the development and implementation of business rules and work process in an electronic workflow system. 8. Manage the organizations forecast planning function using inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to estimate output; work with OEM and customers to determine optimal inventory levels. 9. Responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials; supervise transport of materials within the supply activity. 10. Supervises the disposal of items beyond economical repair (BER) for all COS except Class IX (a). 11. Manages “On the Job Training” Job Books for training program for Saudi students; determine training objectives; administer written and practical exams; write performance reports to evaluate trainees. 12. Manages the warehouse automation systems for managing receiving, inventory, issuing, packing and staging of materiel. 13. Develops Class III (p) and IX (a) management reports for forecasting and management of future operations. 14. Ensures materiel received is processed and added to the inventory in accordance to the established standards and procedures. 15. Ensures inventory and property cycle counts; researches missing parts to find current locations; ensures all warehouse personnel follow policies and procedures for inventory requirements. 16. Supervises and oversees all warehouse operational functions of the ERP as related to day to day warehouse operations supporting Class III (p) HAZMAT and Class IX Aviation repair parts. 17. Ensures that Class III (p) HAZMAT is received with SDS documentation, and is properly stored IAW SDS, manufacturer’s recommendations, Army Regulations and AS9110 Rev C. 18. Responsible for overseeing warehouse Class III and IX automation modernization to include Scan Gun, and barcoding for all Class III and IX warehouse locations 19. Supports the DAP and MNG goals of a paperless operation and full transition to ERP to improve efficiencies and save resources. 20. Other duties as assigned and or directed by management.B. Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.C. Supervisory Responsibilities: Primary Logistics Manager for all Depot Supply Activity (DSA) operations (Class 2 and 3, Stock Control, R&R and warehouse personnel). Job Requirements: A. Education Level: a. Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in management. b. Preferred: Master’s Degree or higher.B. Training Certifications: a. Required: Graduate of a US Military Advanced Officer or NCO Course (ANCOC, WOAC etc.) in aviation or logistics specialty or civilian equivalent. b. Preferred: Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course graduate.C. Experience: a. Required: Battalion level or equivalent logistics experience. b. Required: 12 years’ experience in US Military Logistics and Maintenance or civilian equivalent. c. Preferred: Former officer or senior NCO with recent aviation logistics / maintenance experience.D. Specific knowledge, skills, ability: a. Knowledge and experience of military aviation logistics support. b. Past performance in the development or organizational plans, policies and operational procedures. c. Experience with warehouse management. d. AS9100 Lead Auditor training. e. Must be proficient in the English language, both written and spoken. f. Possess a valid driver’s license.E. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire
