He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our... Specialist Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) at Tauranga Hospital. The service provision covers both the Western and Eastern Bay of Plenty Community and an In-Patient Unit at Tauranga Hospital.

The focus of the role is on both neuropsychological assessment and therapeutic intervention for older people presenting with mental health difficulties and/or age-related neurological disorder. This role will include neuropsychological assessment and designing psychological interventions for inpatients presenting with complex problems.

The psychologist will also provide neuropsychological assessment to the Memory Service which is facilitated under the MHSOP umbrella.

We are a multidisciplinary team composed of nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and psychologists. We are therefore looking for someone who has experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams. You will also be part of the bigger psychologist group employed by the Bay of Plenty District Health Board.

To be successful in this role you will:
• Be a New Zealand Registered Clinical Psychologist
• Have postgraduate training in clinical psychology and other relevant postgraduate training
• Be able to demonstrate core facilitative skills in interpersonal interaction
