eSafety Legal Services is expanding and is therefore seeking experienced Principal Lawyers to join our team. There are multiple roles on offer managing our three specialist legal teams:
Legal - Business Operations
Legal – Investigations
Legal – Industry Codes and Basic Online Safety Expectations (BOSE)
Each Legal Manager reports directly to the Executive Manager of Legal Services, Media and Communications, Marketing and Research Branch.
The Legal Managers/Principal Lawyers and their small teams are expected to work very closely together, providing support and surge capacity across areas where required.
The key duties of the position include:
The successful applicant will provide practical advice on a diverse range of topics, including administrative law, contract law, intellectual property law and privacy law, as well as lead FOI... requests for the office. You will also be required to prepare and review legal policy submissions on complex and often novel issues and provide training to eSafety staff as needed.
You will provide expert legal advice to the Commissioner, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Managers and you will work across all branches of eSafety including the Education and Prevention branch to deliver legal guidance to facilitate eSafety’s operations, mandatory reporting and regulatory policy functions.
To be eligible for employment with eSafety, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.
National police check is required prior to commencement.
