Job Description - Facilities Manager (23000B1)

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
• Participating in the formulation and implementation of policy and strategies relating to AA&I works and building maintenance of the University;
• Preparing design sketches, layouts, details, specifications, implementation programmes and tender documentations
• Monitoring the performance of consultants and contractors in executing AA&I projects and building maintenance works to the satisfactory of the University;
• Consolidating projects list, clarifying project requirements with users, estimating project costs, prioritizing project works and seeking management’s approval;
• Conducting technical feasibility study and providing design inputs and technical advices;
• Conducting and updating space inventory and record management, organizing and attending space meetings and liaisons;
• Liaising with stakeholders regarding space planning and fitting-out works, and maintaining full set of building drawings, space inventory, oversight of campus signage and master key system;
• Liaising with consultants and contractors in matters relating to campus development for the University;
• Collaborating with service provider and vendors in improvement, repair, replacement and maintenance of facilities in campus buildings;
• Conducting root cause analysis, planned maintenance schemes and life cycle management; and
• Performing any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
• A recognized degree in building services or a related discipline;
• Preferably a member of related professional bodies with at least 6 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
• Ability to lead teams, manage consultants and contractors, and to handle a complex, varied workload;
• Excellent leadership and management skills as well as interpersonal skill with servicing mindset;
• Able to work under high pressure, heavy workload, and intense time and budget constraints,
• Perform as a problem solver and capable of working independently with minimum supervision and guidance, and
• Effective spoken and written communication skills in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
