Role Purpose

Provides behaviour analysis services and behaviour management plans for both students who receive special education and students who are... receiving support for challenging behaviour.

Is responsible for assessment informed, evidence-based approaches in developing strategies, services, and support for faculty and staff for effective teaching practices and student success as well as the achievement of strategic initiatives.

Assists in preparing and submitting reports required by government agencies, accreditation bodies, and other entities and accreditation activities.

Responsible for professional development opportunities, including training and workshops with faculty, staff, and administrators.

In addition, they cooperate with the Principal in facilitating institutional survey administration, data collection, analysis, and reporting to the School constituents.

To provide support and guidance to other Teachers and Teaching Assistants in the best practice of Behaviour Specialism in the school.
• To act as Behaviour Specialist Lead.
• To contribute to raising standards of student support and progress in the school.
• To have specific oversight of Specialist Behaviour as agreed.
• To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
• To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments for students who have behavior concerns and are receiving support or special education services.
• Create and adjust plans for students who require specific behavior interventions.
• Oversee assessments, plan development, and ongoing program data analysis to ensure maximum student progress.
• Plan and oversee the work and professional development of LS Technicians/shadows.
• Direct work with students who present complex and challenging behaviors (case by case basis).
• Provide professional development for certified and non-certified staff in service delivery, data collection, and general information regarding behavior management.
