Coastal Communications Corporation, a leading 48-year B2B print magazine publisher based in Boca Raton, Florida, has an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced editor.

Must be highly organized and proficient in English with very strong writing, proofreading and copyediting skills for print media required as well as knowledge of AP Style. The candidate should also be proficient on the... Macintosh OS, including working knowledge of Adobe CC (InCopy), Microsoft Office, Google docs and familiarity with online platforms such as WordPress. Must have at least 2-3 years magazine or related editorial experience and be comfortable working on a variety of tasks simultaneously, capable of multitasking and working under deadlines.

Job responsibilities:

Work with publisher, editorial team and creative director throughout the editorial process and final production of three print and online magazines for the meetings and conventions industry.

Duties to include:
• Assign features to writers and maintain organization of ongoing editorial schedule.
• Write news items and write/rewrite/edit content for print magazines.
• Proofread, fact check and copyedit print pages per house and AP style. Maintain consistent style throughout print, website and other digital platforms.
• Assist with acquiring photos, along with caption descriptions, photo credits and photo selection for all print feature stories and departments. Maintain organization of internal photo library.
• Assist in writing photo captions for print magazine pages.
• Assist with proofreading text for eNewsletters.
• Overall, respond to day-to-day requests and daily miscellaneous editorial/administrative duties.
• Excellent organizational skills a must.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and people abilities.
• Must have strong writing and rewriting skills.
• Very strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
