We're looking for an experienced Outdoor Education Centre Manager who can create and maintain a culture of excellence while working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage an outdoor centre all year round. With activities including, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, archery, axe throwing, bushcraft and raft building.
• Manage bookings, site maintainance and budgets.
• Be responsible for a team of instructors to deliver safe and enjoyable outdoor activities.
• Organize and lead special events.
• Plan and implement site improvements and staff training.
We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic outdoor professional with inspiring leadership abilities. As centre manager you will be responsibe for the day to day operations of the centre and ensure the safe and professional delivery of all... activities on site.
The key focus of this role will be to take a lead on developing and managing the activity operations and increasing outdoor learning opportunities.
This role will be offered on a permanent basis with an initial 6 month probationary period.
This role will be 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. (Including Weekend Work)
We also have a 4 day working week option for any candidate who would prefer to work Thursday-Sunday each week and have Monday-Wednesday off. This is optional. If you select a 5 day working week you would be required to work two full weekends per month.
The post holder will be based on-site at our centre in Aberfoyle and evening work/occasional overnights for residentials are likely.
What we need from you:
You will be well qualified outdoor professional with at least 2 years management experience in either a similar role or as chief / senior instructor.
Plus:
A passion to deliver high quality watersports sessions and outdoor education opportunities to a wide range of people. Plus, the ability to share your passion to motivate, inspire and lead a team.
Excellent working knowledge of Health & Safety within the outdoor industry and extensive knowledge of NGBs and Accreditations.
To consistently demonstrate high standards, with a can-do attitude and positive approach to working as a team. You’ll also need to hold at least one relevant NGB coaching qualification relevant to watersports including Canoeing, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboards. An RYA Powerboat Level 2 License is desirable.
