What you’ll do We currently have opportunities to join our Microbiology team: Reporting to the Microbiology Quality Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of microbiological tests, including quality control testing and Environmental Monitoring, and you will be given the opportunity to improve our processes. In addition, you will follow up on deviations and out of specification results and you will contribute in training exercises. Responsibilities include: Conduct viable and non-viable environmental monitoring per current procedures Perform microbiological identification per current procedures Author/Review documents (i.e. SOPs, WI, LSPs etc) with appropriate clarity and completeness Provide Technical support for routine test methods, projects, method validation and Laboratory OOS investigations Provide advice on Microbiological quality related matters to cross functional department Coordinate media fill and media preparation schedule Schedule adherence for Microbiological sampling, sample receipt and testing, test result review, Deviation initiation and completion, Change Control initiation and closure, OOS investigation and reporting, Special Projects, ECMS and SABA Cloud requirements. Build relationships within the immediate team, wider work community and stakeholders Essential for the role Bachelor of Science or Qualified in Tertiary Education in Science majoring in Microbiology or equivalent in a scientific discipline Knowledge and understanding of the principles and concepts of compliance management and Good Manufacturing Practice/Good Laboratory Practice Knowledge and understanding of Microbiological Quality Control testing and Microbiological Environmental testing with relevance to sterile manufacturing process Knowledge and understanding of Safety, Health and Environment Functional mastery of written and spoken English High competency in Microbiological testing and analysis Competent in problem solving and microbiological risk analysis Computer literate (Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc) Desirable for the role Work experience in a Pharmaceutical / Technical environment in Quality Control Sound project management, prioritisation and multi-tasking skills Ability to build and maintain relationships between key stakeholders Auditing experience in either manufacturing or laboratory settings Knowledge in sterile manufacturing Knowledge in computerized management systems (i.e. SAP, GQCLims, WinKQCL etc) Why AstraZeneca At AstraZeneca we’re dedicated to being a Great Place to Work.
