The position
As Senior Sustainability Manager you will join a team of 5-6 employees responsible for driving and further developing Novo Nordisk ESG agenda towards our supplier base and reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, Project Office, and Sustainability.
Your main responsibilities are:
• Drive initiatives related to the Novo Nordisk environmental strategy – Circular for Zero... working together with our global procurement organisation to secure sustainable supply from our global supply base, with a focus on reducing CO2 emissions, water, and waste
• Negotiate with some of the largest suppliers to Novo Nordisk
• Implement a sustainable supplier maturity framework including analysing decarbonisation levers for high carbon impact categories
• Ensure best-in-class reporting schemes while facilitating digitalisation
Qualifications
You hold a Master’s degree Degree (e.g. in economics, business administration, finance, environmental mgmt., engineering, supply chain management, or similar) with excellent results and are a strong project manager with 3-5 years of experience within environmental sustainability. Specific experience with decarbonisation and/or procurement would be a plus.

About the department
You will join the Sustainability team within Corporate Procurement. In Corporate Procurement we are 150 employees in Denmark and India, and globally more than 400 people work in procurement throughout the organisation responsible for approx. 75% of Novo Nordisk’s spend and for setting the strategic direction. We are Novo Nordisk’s centre of excellence for category strategies, digital procurement, and purchasing processes, where we work to ensure that the ESG agenda becomes an integrated part of working with our suppliers.
Novo Nordisk has committed to net zero emissions by 2045 for scope 1, 2 and 3. The majority of our scope 3 emissions comes from purchased goods and services and capital investments, therefore working with suppliers to achieve zero impact, is a key strategic focus.
