EURACTIV is an independent pan-European media network specialised in EU policies. We spark and nourish policy debates among stakeholders, including government, business and civil society. We cover policy processes upstream of decisions, summarising the issues without taking sides.

The EURACTIV Network provides free localised EU policy news in 13 languages. Together with our media partners, we reach over 1.7 million users across Europe and beyond, every month. With 2,5 million page views and over 1 million unique readers per month, EURACTIV is a leader among online media specialised in EU policy. We address 80% of our readers in their own language.

EURACTIV has an original business model, based on five elements (corporate sponsoring, Euractor membership, advertising, EU projects, and content syndication). It is well funded and the content usage is free.

We are now looking for a Translation Trainee (EN to FR) – Brussels

(Starting Date: as soon as... possible)

Profile:

French mother tongue

Background (degree) in translation, politics or journalism with strong language skills in English and French

Proactive, open-minded, flexible and a team-player

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment

Highly-motivated and able to face tight deadlines

Beneficial experience: traineeship at EU institution or similar, editing experience in French, English and German, or work experience in or knowledge of other languages

Responsibilities include:

Translation of articles and subtitling of video content from English to French

Helping with editing articles and adapting content in line with the editorial strategy

Communicating with the editorial team on the progress of translations and participating in weekly editorial meetings
