We have an immediate opening for a bachelor's or master's level Research Chemist. Reporting to the Chief Scientist, this position will be responsible for working independently in support of new product development and legacy product support and growth. Primary functions will include the development of process chemistry, purification and analytical technology to support the commercialization of new products originating in the R&D organization of Electronic Fluorocarbons.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Project planning
• Experimental design
• Hazards assessments and reviews
• Building/assembly of experimental and process equipment
• Hands on execution of experiments
• Isolation, purification and analysis of reaction products
• Maintain accurate written accounts of all work
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a B.S. chemistry degree (Masters level preferred) and 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience in synthesis, process development and/or analysis of new products in an industrial setting.
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
• Of additional value is experience with some or all of the following: vacuum manifolds, handling air-sensitive and temperature sensitive materials, glove-box work, gas-phase reactions, catalysis, assembly of Swagelok systems, assembly of laboratory glassware, Parr pressure reactors, distillation, adsorption purification, and analysis by wet chemical methods (titrimetry), Karl Fisher, GC, GC-MS, NMR and FT-IR.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
