Accountant - Gaborone (1)
Duties
To perform the duties of Company Accountant for the Nandos Group of companies and ensure compliance with Nando's operational standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
⦁ Responsible for the weekly/monthly sales analysis: that is the preparation of the daily sales summarising the store budgets, NET sales, customer count, and ticket averages. These are to be sent to Nandos International on a weekly & monthly basis
⦁ Analysis of daily sales, banking, compiling cash-ups, and investigating cash-up variances
⦁ Assisting in Restaurant monthly stock take, and analysis of stock variances
⦁ Assisting with VAT computations
⦁ Managing petty cash reconciliations
⦁ Capturing supplier invoices, payment of suppliers, and reconciliation of Accounts Payable accounts
⦁ Capturing Sales, Cost of Sales, Payroll journals
⦁ Reconciliation of Bank accounts and Balance sheet... control accounts
⦁ Preparation of internal reports such as monthly management accounts to assess the Company's performance. In addition, the preparation of AD HOC reports is needed for quick strategic decisions as and when the need arise
⦁ External audit preparations, including, preparation of audit schedules and compiling audit evidence
⦁ Any other duties as required by company management
1 successful applicant will be based in Gaborone.
Qualifications/ Experience:
⦁ A Degree in Accounting or equivalent
⦁ At least 2 to 3 years work experience in an accounting environment
⦁ Basic knowledge of intercompany transactions and the related double entry
⦁ At least one-year experience working with SAGE Evolution (Pastel)
⦁ A valid driver's license
