BACKGROUND:

INARA provides life-altering medical care and reconstructive surgery for children (0-18 years) who have injuries due to war, blasts, or unsafe living conditions, and are unable to access or afford treatment. INARA’s work consists of filling the gap in access to free-of-charge medical and surgical treatment. INARA also supports ongoing cases with medication, medical equipment (such as prosthetics, eyeglasses, glass eyes, and hearing aids), laboratory and diagnostic testing, transportation, accommodation prior/post-surgery, and other therapeutic regimens (speech therapy, physiotherapy, and psychotherapy). In... addition, INARA provides psychiatric and psychological therapy services to children in need through its in-house mental health program.

INARA’s entire operation and staff in Turkey have been impacted by the earthquake. The earthquake zone is also where all our beneficiaries live. We have activated our Rapid Response Program, looking at where we are able to provide support not only to our beneficiaries’ families who are among the most vulnerable given that they already have traumatic medical injuries and mental health problems but also to all those who have been impacted by this devastating event. Our main intervention is called Aid, Relief, and Assistance, where we are distributing relief items, providing medical aid for early discharged survivors, and psychological first aid and MHPSS assistance for children in temporary safe spaces. We are currently based in Adana and roving around the affected areas to assist as many families as possible through urgent assistance, this is mainly our first action based on the current needs, but we will be shifting next week to Gaziantep where we will set up INARA tents (Safe Spaces) in the city and in Antakya-Hatay, Islahiye, and Kahramanmas. On the other hand, we are just initiating a pilot project where we will deploy a mobile team constituted of a doctor or a nurse and a social worker in a well-equipped caravan to provide consultations and wound change for the survivors while also conducting basic psychosocial support, recreational educational activities, and storytelling for kids through the included mobile library. These two activities will go simultaneously through INARA’s mobile caravan to address the physical and mental health needs of the affected children and their families.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Generic Duties:
• Detect, counsel, and identify cases during psychosocial activities by the team or referred by other agencies; or through community services and protection monitors where applicable.
• Conduct a psychosocial assessment of vulnerable cases affected by the crises including, emotional, behavioral, and social factors as well as resources and strengths that impact the individual well- being;
• Conduct home visits, and field visits when needed.
• Ensure referring cases to the needed resources and services (internally and externally)
• Ensure coordination and synergy with the main service providers in the area of intervention for prompt referral, follow-up, and information sharing;
• Manage, fill, and archive specific forms for cases profiling, referral, and weekly reporting ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and timeliness;
• Monitor and follow up on the outcome of the assistance provided;
• Be available to provide basic emotional support for cases;
• Manage the hotline according to the internal procedures and under the Senior Caseworker's supervision;
• Ensure that data protection protocol is respected;
• Be available to participate in meetings and training including case management meetings and case conferences meetings or any other meetings when required by the Senior caseworker;
• Accomplish any other task not here listed if necessary to the project's achievement.

Specific Duties:
• Plan with the Senior CW to conduct visits to assess the living conditions of the cases, and if the child or the survivor gives her/his consent;
• Ensure the preparation of accurate case plans for high-risk cases identified with clear outcomes and time-frame.
• Mapping of services in the area of intervention and reporting information to the line manager
• Advocate with different institutions and services providers to help the beneficiary to access needed resources and services
• Implementation of case management in the intervention location in accordance with all CM steps and related tools and procedures as defined through the INARA Strategy. addressing high-risk cases and sharing with line manager for possible intervention

Job Requirements:

University degree in Social Work or another relevant field.

Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in Social Work and Case Management Intervention

Professional Competencies
• Demonstrate a high level of disaster sensitivity, professionalism, respect, empathy, and objectivity when dealing with the beneficiaries.
• Fluent in Arabic language and Turkish
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Previous working experience with children and adolescents
• Previous work with NGOs is a plus
