What you will be doing

Part of our Portugal team, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate IT Engineer with a focus on security, utilizing Sophos to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT security infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT and security teams to ensure the safety and integrity of the organization's sensitive data and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT security principles, industry best practices, and current security threats. With a solid experience of Sophos products, as well as networking, firewalls and intrusion detection systems, you will be able to design and implement effective security solutions that meet the company's needs. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential, as well as experience with incident response and disaster recovery planning. This will involve in particular:

Implement and maintain security protocols and systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Monitor for potential security threats and vulnerabilities, such as unauthorized access attempts and malware.
Collaborate with other IT and security teams to ensure the security of the company's technology infrastructure.
Participate in incident response planning and testing.
Support IT operations and projects as needed.
Be involved with new projects within the infrastructure department.
Onboard new application into our SSO.
Provide critical desktop support to ensure all technology (Windows and Mac) is being supported and kept available across Desktop, Printing, Email, Server, Wi-Fi, remote office networks and desktops services
Provide Office 365 admin support
Provide remote desktop support
Assist with networking and patching configurations
Be involved with new projects within the infrastructure department

What you should have:

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on design, implementation and maintenance of security infrastructure.
Strong experience with Sophos products, such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
Familiarity with industry best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience with Windows and Mac technologies (Linux will be additional advantage).
Experience with JIRA or any service desk software such as Zendesk, Remedy, Service Now, etc.
Advanced Windows Server knowledge
Proficiency in scripting and automation technologies e.g SCCM/ Ansible/ Powershell
Experience with O365 cloud platform
Strong eye for security technologies and its importance within a global corporate IT setting
Comfortable working autonomously
Strong customer service experience and friendly attitude
Good documentation skills - able to plan, track and implement projects
Eager to help and support internal users with solving problems
