Mott MacDonald Bentley have an exciting opportunity for a talented electrical design engineer to join their team in Leeds. We are helping Yorkshire Water to deliver a range of vital water and wastewater treatment projects as part of their AMP7 frameworks. We are looking for... a talented electrical design engineer to play a pivotal role within our water and wastewater treatment design team based out of our city centre office in Leeds (please refer to agile working for full details).
Projects are developed from feasibility through to detailed design and construction, allowing project teams to see the full lifecycle. This enables a strong culture of continuous improvement, to provide on-going efficiencies to the client, and promote best-practice across the industry. You will undertake electrical and ICA (EICA) design across all design stages of water and wastewater schemes in both infrastructure and non-infrastructure as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Your typical duties and responsibilities will include the preparation of and / or supervision of the following design outputs;
• Preparation of drawings for plant general arrangements,
• Power single line diagrams,
• Cable block diagrams,
• P&IDs,
• Control system architecture drawings
• Instrument Schedules
• Load Schedules
• I/O schedules
• Control Philosophy
• Technical specifications
• Attendance at FAT and SAT’s
• Asset condition surveys of existing equipment
You will also be involved with business development including providing specialist support to our account leaders and engineering practices.

Candidate Specification
We are seeking an electrical engineer who can demonstrate the following attributes:
• Good technical knowledge of electrical and ICA (EICA) engineering and able to advise other disciplines regarding aspects of their design as it impacts EICA engineering issues
• Able to demonstrate a broad knowledge and experience in LV (HV would be an advantage) distribution systems, motor control centres / control panels, electrical installation practices, SCADA and telemetry systems
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of current instrumentation and communication protocols
• Awareness of DSEAR and ATEX
• Ability to write and deliver clear and concise EICA design deliverables across all design stages of a project
• Having a working knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical water and wastewater treatment works processes would be beneficial
• Strong communication skills to interact with other engineering disciplines and clients, and on occasions lead the team
• A team player capable of working with others to consistently deliver
• Willingness to contribute to and develop technical knowledge networks
• A drive to be abreast of professional development and knowledge of current and emerging technical solutions
• Working towards or already professionally registered.
Desirable Qualifications
BS7671 18th Edition Wiring regulations
CompEx 1-4 and/or CompEx 12a/b
Degree in electrical engineering or an engineering apprenticeship.

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture business, established in 1999 between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley and global management consultancy, Mott MacDonald.

Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald.

This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
