Mechanical Design Engineer. £30,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Mainly an office based role with UK / Worldwide travel occasionally

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role:

⦁ Carry out detailed mechanical design work as required, including 3D modelling, thermal & stress simulation and design verification testing

⦁ Take responsibility for the specification compliance of designs & part selection with consideration to availability and cost

⦁ Take responsibility for preparing and presenting mechanical designs at design reviews

⦁ Keep design files & information up to date & stored in accordance with departmental procedures

⦁ Highlight all mechanical technical risks and report... progress to the Head of Engineering

⦁ Keep up to date with latest manufacturing techniques & drawing standards

⦁ Take responsibility for identifying mechanical part numbers in accordance with the material finished & the creation of 2D drawings

⦁ Create technical reports, documentation and Bills of materials (BOMs)

Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person:

⦁ Minimum of 3 years’ experience is essential

⦁ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

⦁ Experience using MATLAB for data analysis

⦁ Be a fast & self-motivated learner capable of researching & advising on a wide range of subjects

⦁ 2D & 3D CAD experience & experiences in the use of PLC’s

⦁ Hands on engineering & prototyping skills

⦁ Have a thorough knowledge of mechanical principles , material properties & manufacturing processes

This role would also suit and experienced Product Design Engineer or Robotic Design Engineer.

Located in Stirlingshire, this role would be commutable from Stirling, Falkirk, Cumbernauld and Glasgow.
