At Thales Alenia Space in Milan, we research, develop, and supply GNSS technology that impacts the lives of people each day to make life better, and keep us safer. We provide GNSS receivers for satellite orbit determination, for ground reference stations and for safety-critical user applications.

Our GNSS team in Milan are looking for a GNSS HW Design Engineer to join them and take responsibility for design and development of FPGAs for their GNSS equipment products. This is a great opportunity for engineers in Telecommunications, Electronics, Physics, Information Technology or equivalent scientific background.

Key duties:

You will be part of a team including System, HW, FPGA and SW engineers. Your duties will include:

Contribution to HW and FPGA specification, architecture and algorithms

HW and VHDL design, implementation and documentation life-cycle

Analysis, modeling and simulation

Definition of validation test plans

Execution of test campaigns and analysis of results

You will interface the customer and you will collaborate with other Thales departments including project managers and HW/SW product engineering.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

Laurea Magistrale or Master degree or relevant work experience

Knowledge of Satellite Navigation Systems and signals (GPS, EGNOS, Galileo)
Knowledge and experience in VHDL design, simulation, methods and tools

Knowledge and experience in Digital/RF HW design

Knowledge and experience in the use of modeling tools such as Matlab/Simulink Experience in HW/FW/SW integration and debug on real-time target HWUse of laboratory electronic instrumentation

Organized and methodical with strong communication skills

Able to work autonomously and in team Attitude to problem solving

Good knowledge of English in writing and speaking

Eligible for Italian National Security clearance
