About the Role
Do you like to use your academic skills in an international environment and learn facultative underwriting from scratch? Are you analytically strong and at the same time enjoy dealing with clients and brokers?
Your job will include the analysis, evaluation and negotiation of terms and conditions for single risks. In the risk assessment you will cooperate with specialists such as risk engineers, actuaries and claims experts. You will be able to assess a wide range of risk types and sub lines of business like General Liability, Product Liability and Professional Indemnity. Your role will be complemented by developing new and strengthening existing client and broker relationships.
Moreover, you will collaborate with key account managers, client managers, market underwriters and treaty underwriters in cross-functional teams. Together we build on our partnerships with our clients and share our knowledge, with the objective to bring value for the client and Swiss Re. About the Team
Join our team! We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious Liability Underwriter Facultative for the Munich Desk, mainly responsible for the Nordic markets but flexible to support Germany, Austria and CEE.
As an integral part of Facultative Europe, we're a diverse and international team of mostly very experienced underwriters with long-standing relationships into our markets, building on a very high level of single risks underwriting expertise with a strong track record. We're looking to complement and strengthen our team with someone bringing first experience in insurance, a fresh view, and innovative ideas as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and energy.
The position is based in Munich and open as of April 1st, 2023 or later.
About You

• You are building on a University degree related to economics, law or engineering and/or on a professional training / trainee program in the insurance industry
• You have made first experiences in broking, insurance or reinsurance
• You dispose of excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English with a good command of German
• You are client focused, ambitious, pragmatic and strive for solutions.
• You are attracted by working in an international environment
• You are an outstanding teammate who can work independently and takes ownership for making decisions.
• You are empathetic, trustworthy, curious to learn and willing to challenge.
