Our client N&M2B PTY LTD t/ a Lidcombe Hypermarket sells groceries & products of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepalese, Afghan, Bangladesh & Middle East at wholesale price.
Client is looking for an experienced and motivated person who is qualified and is capable to make customers shopping experience more meaningful and enjoyable. As a Retail buyer you will select and purchase lines of products and will also need to negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices.
You should have excellent research and negotiation skills, an exceptional understanding of consumer trends and be able to source the best quality products within the allocated budget.
This position requires a driven and detail- Oriented Retail Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing market appropriate ranges for retail business.
- Certificate IV in Retail or related studies
- At least 2 years retail buying... experience
Responsibilities:
- Evaluating supplier options according to prices, quality etc. And determine the best choices
- Discovering and purchasing new products and checking the quality and popularity of those already on shelves
- Inspecting, comparing, selecting and valuing different products
- Receiving samples from different suppliers for approval
- Understand supplier base capability and constantly identify opportunities, which will deliver long term competitive advantage for business
- Plan, develop and execute category level promotional activity
- Monitoring inventory and liaising with suppliers and distributors
- Managing all administrative tasks such as purchase orders, stock control, and logistic documents
- Negotiating purchase, promotion and supply arrangements with suppliers
- Receiving and acting on customer feedback to adjust buying patterns
- Liaising with management on long- Term planning and sales promotions
- Liaising with suppliers to create new relationships and develop existing one
- Purchasing new merchandise and reviewing existing merchandise
- Try to anticipate changes in customer demand for particular goods
- Establishing working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements
- Contact suppliers to replenish stocks
You will need to possess the following skills and personal attributes:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating
- Good market researching and networking skills
- Great understanding of retail products and consumer trends
- Commercial awareness
- Proficient in MS- Office
