Job Description

AECOM is seeking for a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to be based in Des Moines, Iowa .

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Geometric design of roadways creating horizontal and vertical alignments and cross sections

+ Preparation of design reports including pavement design reports, design study reports, and technical memorandums

+ Coordination with project stakeholders including clients, public, utility companies, and permitting agencies.

+ Plan preparation in accordance with IowaDOT standards including erosion control, pavement marking, permanent signing, traffic control, plan and profiles, and cross sections

+ Calculate quantities and estimates for IowaDOT and local transportation projects

+ Local marketing to build the AECOM brand in the local communities

+ Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in design teams to advance projects through the IowaDOT process.

+ Knowledge of IowaDOT and municipal standards for highway and other infrastructure design is required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

+ BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Motor Vehicle Check will be required

Preferred Qualifications :

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university

+ 5+ years of experience

+ A current P.E. license in the State of Iowa

+ IowaDOT design experience

+ Experience preparing construction plans

+ Knowledge of agency/regulatory approval process

+ Successfully designing multiple projects and producing quality work under tight deadlines

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills experience

+ Municipal utility design experience

+ Stormwater and storm sewer design experience
