• A relevant Masters degree in Education
• English as a major at Bachelor's level
• At least two (2) years' relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years' recent relevant experience in teaching English Home Language at school level
• A relevant teaching qualification
• Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation and evaluation of meaningful teaching experiences for Intermediate- and Foundation Phase students
• Experience and knowledge of support and differentiated teaching for learners experiencing barriers to learning related to Language
• Ability to teach using a hybrid approach involving both on-campus and online methods.

• Teaching in the Intermediate (and Foundation) Phases
• Administrating, supervising and evaluating teaching experiences
• English learning support for and in multilingual classrooms
• Academic administration
• Curriculum development and... learning material design
• Assessment and quality assurance

• Evaluating students on teaching practice in schools
• Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
