Fulltime Firefighter/EMT: The Town of Bucksport, Maine is seeking qualified applicants for added positions. We provide coverage to nearly 8000 citizens and have an annual call volume of over 1400 calls. Applicants must be nationally and/or State of Maine licensed at the EMT level, and be required to obtain a Paramedic license within 2-years. Candidates with a State of Maine or Pro Board... Firefighter I and/or Firefighter II desired. Applicants must have a high school diploma, or equivalent. Applicants will be required to pass a full background check, medical exam, and training assessment. Fulltime Firefighters/EMT's work a rotating 56-hour work week (53 hours paid, and 4.5 hours Comp contribution weekly). We offer an excellent retirement plan, MePERS plan 1C, 20 years service, with no age requirement with COLA as well as an ICMA 457-B employee only contributions. We also include Social Security as well. Up to 6-weeks vacation time, along with 4.5 hours per week comp time accrual.
