This is an entry level position for those looking to begin a career in law enforcement. Tasks include enforcing the laws of the state of Maine and the ordinances of the Town of Ogunquit, responding to general assistance and emergency calls, patrolling Ogunquit... Beach, Perkins Cove, and downtown Ogunquit, assisting full time law enforcement personnel, issuing citations, traffic enforcement, investigating motor vehicle crashes, taking police reports, engaging in criminal investigations, making arrests, and serving as a positive role model in the community. Ogunquit hosts one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, a vibrant inclusive community, busy nightlife, and a team of dedicated officers who are proud to serve this wonderful community. The Ogunquit Police Department also boasts a proud history of helping new candidates reach their full potential and achieve their law enforcement life goals. Starting Pay: $21.00 per/hour.

Requirements:

Age: 21 years old, or 20 years old with at least 60 credits from an accredited college by June 01, 2023

Experience: None Necessary

Physical: Must be able to pass a physical agility test

Educational: Must be enrolled or have graduated from an accredited college

Additional: Applicants should have no adult criminal history and only minor motor vehicle history.

Must be willing to work day, evening, and night shifts as well as weekends and holidays. Paid intern opportunities are available.
