Our client is looking for a Packaging Engineer to join their team on-site in Windsor, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in industrial packaging with relevant knowledge in the industry. Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with the production team in relation to material presentation equipment, in-process packaging, and in-plant handling procedures.
• Responsible for leading design development with other engineering disciplines
• Provide technical support to all engineering and provide support to manufacturing and implementation processes of product packaging.
• Oversee the design of the finished product packaging, marketability, and cost efficiency.
• Leverage fundamental engineering, math, and computer skills in the development of practical solutions to technical problems.
• Responsible for technical package management of design-supply contracts... for bulk material handling equipment.
• Prepare and/or update Safety Analysis Reports and engineering calculations and assessments as required.
• Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Engineering or Materials Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging preferred
• Industrial packaging experience required
• Corrugated boxes/ cardboard packaging experience required
• Extensive knowledge of packaging materials and design required
• Knowledge of computer drafting programs preferred
• Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards
• Ability to perform engineering calculations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a team-oriented environment
