Job Description Summary

The Engineer is part of Stress & Life team and provides direction and assistance within the team in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will own your tasks that you would need to make decisions about, work with not only more experienced members of the team but also other disciplines and deliver the results by following guidelines and technical practices.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Execute the analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering principals, material knowledge and general understanding of gas turbines operational environment
• Broadening knowledge of structural and dynamic analysis to reach the defined deliverables. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
•... Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
• This position requires good interpersonal skills since in your everyday tasks you would need to talk with other disciplines and collect data to proceed with your own task.
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
• Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
• Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews
• Prepare technical and certification reports

Required Qualifications:

This role requires 3-5 years’ experience in the stress and life analysis disciplines and Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).

Desired Characteristics:
• Previous experience in FEA using Ansys Workbench/APDL (knowledge of Hypermesh and other similar software is plus)
• Basic knoweledge of fatigue life calculations
• Proficiency in English language
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proven team building ability
• Willingness to pursue career in analysis/simulation domain
