Job Description
• Responsible in assisting Section Head in day-to-day laboratory operations toward direction of effective implementation of quality system ISO/IEC 17025, SAMM policy and SGS GCSC requirement.
• Shall comply with the group HSE procedures while performing any analytical work in the laboratory
• Assist to ensure day-to-day Laboratory testing activities conducted smoothly and productively.
• Assist in providing technical support and lead troubleshooting for issues or problems faced by analysts in the... Laboratory.
• Supervise to ensure all tests conducted according to SOPs and QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure all procedures in Quality Manual and Procedures are adhered effectively.
• Responsible to ensure all test results are reviewed and issued as per ISO 17025.
• Responsible to ensure that the Laboratory SOPs are established, reviewed and approve appropriately.
• Assist to ensure all staffs are trained and qualified accordingly prior to performing the test.
• Assist to ensure all staffs receive continuous guidance / training and training records are updated.
• Supervise that laboratory staffs performing testing in safe manner by adhering to group HSE safety procedures.
• Ensure the Laboratory competency by participating in Proficiency Testing Program or Round Robin / Inter-Laboratory Comparison.
• Assist in method development or improvement.
• Supervise team members to ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory.
• Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by uphold a good safety behavior and exercising necessary standard and process when carry out your responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance to the HSE requirements.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field from recognized university/college.
• Minimum 3 years proven track record in relevant analytical laboratory testing activities.
• ISO 17025 Approved Signatory shall have added advantage.
• Proficient in MS ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
• Good personality, independent and good team player.
• Able to understand the required test standard/procedures.
• Demonstrates personal integrity and trustworthiness.
• Good communication and written skills in English and/or local language.
