Autronica Fire and Security, owned by Carrier, is a leading innovator, manufacturer and supplier of fire and gas safety worldwide. About the role

Do you want to join a highly committed team eager to reach our vision of zero loss of lives, no injuries or damages caused by fire and gas? We are looking for a Project Engineer who wants to contribute to increasing safety on board ships. You will be responsible for designing fire detection and security systems, monitoring production and testing and delivering systems to shipyards and end customers. The position is based at our headquarters in Trondheim, but international travel activity is required.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:
• Bachelor degree in electronics, electrical, automation or similar.
• 3 years’ experience in PLC programming and configuration of Linux-based computer systems and networks is an advantage.
• Experience from the maritime industry, shipbuilding or shipyards, is a definite advantage.
• Experience with AutoCAD (Electrical).
• Fluent written and oral, both English and Norwegian.
• Familiar with regulations that apply to ship deliveries (SOLAS, IMO, flag state and class requirements)

Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you’ll:
• Analyze customer specifications and develop safe designs according to maritime rules and regulations.
• Specify system components and transfer orders to our production department.
• Configure fire detection and security systems and carry out Factory Acceptance Tests in cooperation with customers.
• Produce and maintain documentation for the production department, approval bodies, and customers.
• Support customers during installation and configure interfaces to other systems onboard ships.
• Execute system commissioning on board ships in cooperation with customer and various class societies.
