Reporting to the Director of Sales, the incumbent is responsible for:
• To support and be stand-in for the Director of Sales in all departmental activities as needed.
• To increase occupancy, average rate and profits of the hotel through planning, guidance, and training of hotel sales personnel.
• To represent the sales functions and needs of the hotel in the development of the Company’s sales policy.
• To maintain Sales filing system and to create individual account files; to monitor this data via the database system.
• To establish sales targets and highlight any variances with actual sales figures and recommend what action should be taken to remedy significant variances.
• To direct the development of the special marketing plans to special accounts, trade show participants and unique sales and marketing situations.
• To develop, in conjunction with the MARCOMS Manager, a hotel Marketing Communications Plan consistent with the Corporate Office guidance and the Corporate Marketing... objectives.
• To define and target markets to be solicited utilizing data contained in the OPERA system and develop an appropriate sales solicitation and strategies for both domestic and international markets.
• To maintain contact with key customers and to back up the activities of any member of the Sales Team when required.
• To provide feedback to Director of Sales on all sales-related activities.
• To assist in the building of an efficient team of associates by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
• To assist in the training of the associates ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency.
• To supervise the associates within the department, ensuring that the correct standards and methods of service are maintained as stated in the Department’s reference manuals.
• To respond to any changes in the departmental function as dictated by the industry, company, or hotel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• At least Diploma in Hotel Management / Sales Management or equivalent
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, of which 2 years in supervisory role
• Successful track records of sales strategy planning and execution
