A US-based company that has built a carsharing platform that allows users to rent, find, and unlock cars easily is looking for a Senior Back-End Python Engineer. The engineer will work as part of a cross-functional project team and help tackle some of the most challenging technical problems in the transportation marketplace space, specifically around scalability, availability, latency, dynamic pricing, and supply/demand. The company has developed an app that enables people to bypass the hurdles at traditional rental car counters and avoid the complex technicalities in purchasing and maintaining a car. This will be a great chance for the candidate to join a diverse and distributed team to solve real-world problems.

Job Responsibilities:
• Create backend services and features, as well as APIs for the native client apps
• Utilize a microservices architecture
• Join both the project and functional teams
• Work with fellow engineers to own backend-specific services and share development... best practices

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience building stable, high-performing services in Python
• Knowledge of Python 2.7 and Python 3
• Experience developing with Git-based source control, ideally in a team setting with pull requests
• Knowledge of GCP or AWS
• Experience building microservices is nice to have
• Experience with Docker is desirable
• Proficiency in English
