We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse with experience in wound care to join our Tissue Viability (Wound) Service at MidCentral.

As a Registered Nurse Tissue... Viability, you will work within the specialty in conjunction with the CNS Tissue Viability and team to ensure that nursing care and advice is provided to a high standard. This role extends between hospital and community and will provide you with the opportunity to develop skills to ensure excellent patient-centred care is provided.

The successful candidate will have the following key attributes:
• Registered Nurse with current annual practising certificate
• Two years post registration experience
• Advanced skills and current knowledge in wound care
• Professional portfolio at level 3 (or working toward)
• Ability to work in a small team and wider multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to work autonomously
• Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
• Ability to be flexible and prioritise
• Current NZ Driver Licence

Desirable requirements:
• Experience in the hospital and community
• Post graduate education focusing on wound care or related topics

The position is 0.5 FTE permanent, Monday to Friday.

Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000. In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa
