Senior Training Development Officer

Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is currently constructing a new correctional centre in Gatton: Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct, Stage 2 (SQCP-S2). This new centre gives QCS the unique opportunity to operate differently with a strong focus on prisoner rehabilitation.

To help build the new service delivery functions for SQCP-S2, a large project team has been formed to develop the required infrastructure and associated operating models purpose-designed to achieve mandated SQCP-S2 outcomes.

Naturally, new operating frameworks must have the strong connection to required SQCP-S2 training programs to upskill and equip the new workforce, ensuring all staff are competent, confident and job ready for safe, efficient and compliant Centre operations.

The complexities... of the frameworks required for all levels of SQCP-S2 operating functions cannot be understated, and as such, high calibre training for this new workforce context is crucial.

At a senior level with a small project team, your domain training expertise and knowledge will be heavily relied on to collaborate with wider project teams to develop, and validate, the required training content and programs to will ensure SQCP-S2's operating model is embedded through our newly trained workforce. Fortunately, your domain knowledge will be complemented by the vast knowledge base of current training programs as well as seasoned professional teams who deliver these functions on a daily basis.

The centre is due to open in early 2024, so this will be a fast-paced role where you will also manage multiple project training deliverables to build and embed these programs within tight timeframes.

As an experienced training developer, with exceptional training content and design experience, along with sound project management experience, strong communication and engagement skills, and ability to form positive and productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, you would be an ideal candidate.
