Job Description

To execute cost control activities regarding a variety of project activities and acts as a liaison between the vendors, subcontractors and suppliers. The Cost Controller oversees cost management including the consolidation, analysis, classification and reporting of different costs.

Context and environment
• Control and monitor the total expenditure of different projects including verifying and reviewing of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
• Work with the accounting department to prepare the budget and assist with future forecasting.
• Assist with the monthly consolidation and reporting including accrual preparation/ submission.
• Assist in the monthly and quarterly assessment of invoices against contract terms, conditions and rates.
• Provide cost control and planning advice to the Operations team regarding purchase requisitions.
• Attend project meetings and... discussions with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Coordinate the compilation of data in preparation of financial and operating reports in SAP.

Candidate profile
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent (pursuing a professional designation is an asset).
• 3 – 5 years’ professional experience (variance analysis, internal and cost control), ideally in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge in the use of SAP and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
