This role must collaborate with ATS (Advanced Technical Solutions) Engineers, Operations, as well as Reliability & Maintenance. This role offers ample opportunity for personal development, both technical and leadership.The Senior Process Engineer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team that has responsibility for Process Safety Management, day-to-day plant operations, new capital installation, new product commercialization and continuous improvement in our Membrane manufacturing site. Will serve as the technical guardian of one or more manufacturing process areas.Duties and Responsibilities Ensure that Process Safety Management principles are allied to all aspects of production, modification & improvement in the areaRecommend and implement solutions to drive continuous improvementDesign and conduct process improvement tests in the plantMonitor, analyze and report on process performance through trends of Key Process Input and Output VariablesEnsure compliance with applicable engineering standards and quality system requirementsOwn selected Technology packages and work instructions, ensuring clarity and effectivenessLeads and participate in design, debug, and commissioning of capital projects Lead and participate in troubleshooting, as neededLead and participates in Incident InvestigationsLead and Participates in Process Hazards AnalysesLead problem solving for issues escalated from the operators. Analyze to determine possible causes, act to verify the cause, provide immediate solutions, and implement preventive actions to make the problem disappear forever.Expose the organization to best-in-class manufacturing practices and principles, staying abreast of the latest applicable technologiesAssist in the training of operators, enabling them to generate improvement ideas and to sustain the improvements In conjunction with the ATS (Advanced Technical Solutions) function, launch new products and commission new equipment.Interface and maintain relationships with the Operations, Maintenance, Technology,, HSE, ATS, and R&D functionsQualificationsRequired BS or MS in Chemical EngineeringMinimum of 7 years of engineering experienceMinimum of 5 years in a Chemical Manufacturing ProcessDemonstrated knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, valves, reactors, dryers, etc.)Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize and execute improvements that support the Business goals in Safety, Throughput & CostSuperior Oral and Written skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsKnowledge of process safety as it applies to chemical manufacturing processesProven track record of delivering on commitmentsProven ability to lead change, personally adaptable, and able to perform well under pressure and constantly changing prioritiesDevelopment and use of metrics for performance management Preferred Experience in hollow membrane manufacturing or textile industrySignificant experience working with highly hazardous chemicals at a manufacturing facilityProcess hazard analysis leadership; LOPA and HAZOPCost/benefit analysis, including DCF analysisSix-sigma Green belt or Black belt certificationExperience using statistical process controlExperience using statistical analysis software (JMP, Minitab) Competencies Analysis, judgment, and decision makingFlexibility and independenceInterpersonal skillsPlanning & organizingSystems thinkingTeamworkAdditional InformationThis position is identified as "safety-sensitive" and is subject to random drug testing in accordance with the current Drug and Alcohol Policy and/or state law.The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
