Warehouse and Logistics Manager – North Norwich – Excellent package.

We have been asked by our client to identify and attract an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager for their North Norwich operation. Our client is in the packaging industry and similar experience will clearly be beneficial. The successful applicant will ensure safety for any persons entering the warehouse or associated areas managing both the storage of goods in compliance with the company’s policies and vision and working closely wih the company’s chosen transpoprt provider.You will also be responsible for aiding the productivity and profitability off the business unit by managing an efficient and cost effective operation.

Key responsibilities:

Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.

Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.

Ensure accuracy in receipting, labelling, issuing, storage counting and distribution of goods.

Liaise and negotiate with... customers and suppliers, as necessary.

Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements.

Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.

Recruit warehouse staff with the approval a Director.

Discipline when necessary and in accordance with company handbook.

Record and monitor holiday and absence.

Development of incoming goods inspection process.

Magement of FIFO (First in First out) and OTIF (On Time in Full) metrics

Continuous Improvement of all warehouse and logistic functions

Involvement in site wide improvememt projects.

Working closely with and part of Site Management team to deliver exceptional coustomer service

Requirements

Leadership skills and the ability to manage staff are paramount. You will display strong decision-making and problem solving skills and excellent communication and organisational skills. These skills will include the ability to work with IT systems and spreadsheets.

Under standing of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies an advantage.

You will possess the skills and enthusiasm to improve the efficiency of the department and implement improvement & cost saving initiatives.

Your motivational skills will inspire a sense of accountability and responsibility in your team. You will be able to upskill your team by demonstrating the benefits of implementing new procedures and workflows and show how this can, in turn, reduce work related stress.

This is a senior appointment within the company and will appeal to an individual who has amassed considerable experience in running a warehouse and logistics unit in a fast-paced environment where a team working together can produce outstanding results.

The role has an attractive starting salary to around £35,000 per annum. While working hours are, of course, flexible to a degree in a 24 hour/day operation, they will essentially be based around 9-5, Monday to Friday
