The Role

We have an opportunity for a highly engaging and experienced Air Freight Product Manager to join our friendly team in Auckland.

This national role is responsible for the overall management and growth of the Air Freight Product for DB Schenker New Zealand. This includes procurement, research, marketing, business development, implementing process and improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Deliver on the objectives of promoting and growing Schenker NZ's Air Freight market share
Drive increased revenue, profit and customer... satisfaction
Contribute as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team to business plans, strategies, tactics and budgets
Support the Sales team and Air Freight Operation in driving sales growth, key account strategies and educating staff
Negotiate Air Freight (import & export) rates for Schenker NZ
Support tender management with competitive and strategic pricing
Ensure the annual budget for the Air Freight product is achieved
Communicate to the business relevant industry news and carrier specific rate increases
Conduct joint sales visits with the Sales teams as required
Manage employee Lifecyle of Air Freight team in conjunction with department operations manager, team leaders and supervisors.

Key Competencies and Skills Required:
5+ years experience in Freight Forwarding Industry
2+ years experience in Product Management
In-depth understanding of the Air Freight market
Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
High-level understanding of Freight Forwarding systems
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, especially negotiation technique and presentation skills
Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to deal with people at all levels
Proven leadership and people management skills
