Civil Site Engineer London J.murphy & Sons are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join us in delivering clean and wastewater projects ranging from £1m-30m on Thames Water AMP7. An opportunity to work for a Tier 1 contractor delivering essential infrastructure in water across North London. If you are a qualified civil engineer with experience in water and/or utilities looking for a new challenge we would like to hear from you. What you will be doing • Checking Inspection Test Plans • Checking setting out protocols of sub-contracted site engineers, review and agree a method to carry out consistently. • Checking Installation on site is correct according to specifications. • Assisting the Design Team with identifying setting out requirements on projects. • Review the Design Information prior to works commencing. • Checking that correct Quality Control is adhered to. • Resolving technical problems at all levels. • Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan. • Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers' defined requirements. • Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures. • Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties. • Minimises environmental disturbance during construction works. • Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met. • Close liaison with the Project Team. • Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used. • Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation and progress reports Engineering Duties • Mirror the Murphy Values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect in all behaviours. • Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI. Who we re looking for • Engineering qualification from a reputable firm • IT Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel and Word proficiency • Able to articulate engineering concepts verbally to stakeholders and in written communication • Previous experience as an engineer on a civil engineering project • Driver s license • Safety training IOSSH and/or PTS • It is expected that you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI. • The post-holder will be expected to behave at all times in a manner consistent with the Murphy values of Safety, Leadership, Integrity and Respect. • Relevant tickets for site-based work The Project Thames Water AMP7 is a 4-year long framework (plus a possible 5 year extension into AMP8) Murphy is a Primary Contractor in Lot 5 North London Infrastructure, value £200m The framework will consist of the delivery of ECI, detailed design, build, commissioning and handover of water and wastewater infrastructure schemes Include individual projects up to £30m (majority will be less than £15m with average value of £5 7m) Design Partner in place Featuring repairs and build of new assets including water treatment plants, pump stations, sewers, pipeline, reservoirs and drainage.
