Personal Assistant to Chairman
Are you an experienced EA/PA who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? Do you have a genuine interest in fashion where no two days are the same? If so, then we might have the perfect opportunity for you to join our team as a Personal Assistant.
Right now, there are endless new opportunities for Primark as a business and with this in mind we will be forming a Strategic Advisory Board this year. We are seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to come and join our team and play a key role in supporting the Chairman of this Strategic Advisory Board.
John Bason will take this newly constituted role as Chairman of this Board. John was appointed to the role of Finance Director of Associated British Foods, our parent company in May 1999. John has extensive international business experience and an in-depth knowledge of both the food and retail industries. He was previously the Finance Director of Bunlz plc and is a member of the Institute of Chartered... Accountants in England and Wales. Other appointments include, Chairman of FareShare, Non-Executive Director of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc and Non-Executive Director of SSE plc.
While this role is based in our HQ in Dublin, there will be opportunity to travel to the UK and other Primark locations as part of this role.
We are looking for an individual who is highly organised, who has excellent communication skills and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have experience providing executive administrator/executive assistant support at C-suite level, ideally in a large-scale organisation or a smaller organisation where you were the “go to person” in a busy office environment.
We are also looking for:
• A detailed eye: You will manage complex scheduling and extensive calendar management.
• Independence and discretion: You may be working on tasks or projects, from conception to completion and you must handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with care.
• Confident communication: It goes without saying. You’ll be connecting with all levels of the business, internally and externally.
• Strong organisational and planning skills: You’ll need to be able to effectively maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
• Interpersonal skills: Establish credibility with colleagues and senior management and to foster effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
• PC proficiency: Excellent skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power point and Excel are a given.
Why work with us?
There’s the competitive salary, of course. Our team covers many different countries, giving you the opportunity to work with colleagues from all over the world. We give our people more responsibility, and the freedom and space to grow and do things their way. You’ll also receive some benefits you wouldn’t expect, such as flexible and hybrid working opportunities (where possible), in store discounts and much more! What’s more, you’ll also be part of a busy, friendly work environment with a gym, café, restaurant, book club, running club and plenty of open space to think
